Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire - A two-day evaluation meeting was held on September 29-30, 2026, to assess the implementation of the 2026 action plan of the Groupe de travail sur les droits des enfants dans les opérations des entreprises (GT-CRB). The meeting, organized by the Ministry of Women, Family, and Children (MFFE), brought together representatives from the government, private sector, civil society, and technical and financial partners.

The evaluation aimed to strengthen the protection of children in the private sector by examining the level of implementation of activities outlined in the 2026 action plan. Participants reviewed completed actions, ongoing activities, and those requiring additional support. They also identified challenges hindering the consideration of children's rights in company policies and practices.

Discussions focused on coordinating actors, monitoring commitments, raising awareness in the private sector, and strengthening mechanisms to protect children at risk of economic exploitation. Through technical presentations, experience sharing, and plenary sessions, participants formulated recommendations to improve the implementation of the action plan and collaboration among stakeholders.

Dr. Gauze Gnagne-Agnéro Chantale, Director of Child Protection at MFFE, commended GT-CRB members for their mobilization and actions to translate commitments into concrete measures. Cissé Sononsa, Director of Operations and Programs at Save the Children Côte d'Ivoire, reaffirmed her organization's commitment to supporting initiatives promoting responsible business practices and prioritizing children's interests.

The meeting concluded with a call to translate recommendations into concrete and measurable actions. Traoré Fatoumata Bintou, Deputy Director of Child Rights Promotion and Fight Against Violence and Abuse, emphasized the responsibility of companies in protecting children from work and exploitation, and promoting access to education, health, and social protection.

The GT-CRB will continue its efforts to strengthen dialogue among public authorities, businesses, and civil society for better integration of children's rights in economic activities in Côte d'Ivoire. The evaluation meeting demonstrated the commitment of stakeholders to protecting children's rights and promoting responsible business practices.

The Ministry of Women, Family, and Children, in collaboration with partners, will continue to support the implementation of the 2026 action plan and promote a culture of respect for children's rights in Côte d'Ivoire.
