The High Authority for Media and Audiovisual (HAMA) in Chad has received a substantial donation of equipment from the Project to Support Parliament and Electoral Processes (PAPPE), funded by the European Union. The ceremony took place on September 24, 2026, at the institution's courtyard. The donation includes 52 computers equipped with professional software, as well as equipment for capturing and monitoring radio content.
The equipment donation also comprises an IT infrastructure consisting of a server, data management system, connectivity equipment, an uninterruptible power supply, a high-capacity battery, and energy inversion systems. This support aims to enhance HAMA's capabilities in monitoring and regulating the media sector in Chad. According to Madjiguène Thiam, PAPPE coordinator, training sessions will be conducted on media monitoring, ethics, deontology, and non-violent communication. Initially targeting HAMA's central team, these sessions will later be extended to journalists to contribute to the professionalization of Chad's media sector. The goal is to strengthen the skills and knowledge of media professionals, enabling them to effectively carry out their duties.
