Capago International, the official collector of French visa applications in Algeria, has announced significant changes to its procedures for scheduling appointments and making payments, effective October 7, 2026. As part of this transition, the system for booking appointments will be modified temporarily. From October 7, appointment bookings for visa deposits will be automatically confirmed without requiring prior online prepayment.

The online payment of visa fees has been temporarily suspended. Instead, applicants will be required to pay the full visa fees and service fees in cash at the Capago center they are assigned to, on the same day as their appointment. To avoid any inconvenience on the day of the appointment, applicants are advised to prepare in advance by withdrawing sufficient cash from their bank and having the exact change ready.

Capago has introduced a new appointment scheduling system and a platform available in Arabic, designed to be more user-friendly and accessible. The new interface is accompanied by an increase in human and technical resources to make the application process simpler, smoother, and more supported. Additionally, the center has revised its fees, with service fees now standing at 5,150 Algerian dinars, effective June 15, 2026.

The changes are aimed at improving the overall experience for applicants. Capago has emphasized that the suspension of online payment is a temporary measure and that no additional steps are required from applicants beyond preparing the necessary cash for the day of their appointment. The company has also introduced an optional pre-verification service for documents, exclusively for applicants attached to the Algiers center who already have an appointment.

The pre-verification service, accessible through the client portal, allows for a preliminary check of documents by qualified agents to secure the application files. However, Capago stresses that this service does not replace the consular instruction and does not guarantee the issuance of a visa. The new system and services are part of Capago's efforts to modernize and improve its operations.

Applicants are advised to plan ahead and take necessary precautions to avoid any delays or issues on the day of their appointment. Capago has reminded applicants that there are no automatic cash machines near its premises, and they should therefore ensure they have sufficient cash with them. The company has also encouraged applicants to take advantage of the new platform and services to facilitate their applications.

The changes to Capago's procedures are effective from October 7, 2026, and applicants are advised to familiarize themselves with the new requirements to ensure a smooth application process. The suspension of online payment and the introduction of new services are part of Capago's efforts to improve its services and provide a better experience for applicants.
