In a ceremony held on October 7, 2026, Canal+ Bénin and A+ Bénin, through the Fondation Canal+, donated 100 school kits to children at Sos Villages d'Enfants in Abomey-Calavi, Benin. The kits, which include notebooks, stationery, and other essential school supplies, aim to support the children's education and well-being. The initiative is part of the Orphée program, which seeks to provide better learning conditions and personal development opportunities for children in need.

The donation was made in the presence of representatives from Canal+ Bénin, A+ Bénin, and Sos Villages d'Enfants. Bio Sacca Orou Gado, coordinator of Sos Villages d'Enfants, expressed his gratitude to Canal+ Bénin and the Fondation Canal+ for their support. He emphasized that the donation comes at a crucial time for the children and addresses their concrete needs. Gado also highlighted that the gesture is not only about providing school supplies but also about sending a message of encouragement to the beneficiaries.

Sos Villages d'Enfants is an organization that provides a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people who have been deprived of adequate family protection or are at risk of losing it. The organization works in various areas, including education, protection, personal development, and social integration. The village currently provides education and care to nearly 300 children each year.

Cléli Azokpota, director of A+ Bénin, emphasized the significance of the initiative. She noted that A+ Bénin, which will soon celebrate its 40th anniversary, is committed to continuing its support for the children. Azokpota also announced that the donation of school kits is just the beginning of a new dynamic that will continue in the coming months. The organization plans to organize workshops with audiovisual professionals to introduce the children to various careers in the sector.

The workshops aim to allow the children to discover the different jobs in the audiovisual industry, share their experiences, and potentially spark new vocations. Azokpota encouraged the beneficiaries to be curious, ask questions, learn, and explore new things. She emphasized the importance of hard work and believing in their abilities.

The Orphée program, carried out by the Fondation Canal+, aims to support reception centers and provide children with better education and personal development opportunities. As part of this program, a media center that can accommodate over 200 people is expected to be inaugurated during the end-of-year celebrations.

The beneficiaries of the school kits have expressed their gratitude to the donors. Gandé Carlos, a student in the fifth grade at the Sos primary school, thanked Canal+ Bénin and A+ Bénin for their generosity. The donation has been well-received by the children, who are eager to start the new school year with the necessary supplies.
