The Cairo International Film Festival has announced the organization of a workshop titled "Actor Preparation: Training in Front of the Camera," in cooperation with "Al Worsha" company, as part of the Cairo Days for Cinema Industry, within the 47th edition of the festival, scheduled to take place from November 11 to 20, 2026. This workshop is the third of its kind, following the success of previous training workshops in the past two editions.
The workshop aims to provide specialized training for actors, focusing on developing their performance in front of the camera, and dealing with various human emotions and situations convincingly. The workshop will be led by acting coach Ahmed Mubarak, through a training and practical program that focuses on developing the actor's ability to perform with honesty, spontaneity, and naturalness in front of the camera.
The program combines practical training on performance in front of the camera, working on developing new ideas, writing them, and converting them into executable scenes. Each participant will have the opportunity to work on a scene and film it as part of the workshop activities, allowing them to test their tools in a practical environment that simulates film work.
To apply for the workshop, applicants must be Egyptian citizens or residents in Egypt, at least 18 years old at the time of application, and have previous experience in acting, such as a short film, play, or other performance work. Accepted participants are required to attend all workshop sessions and related programs.
Applications are submitted through the festival's official website, by sending the full name, WhatsApp number, CV within 150 words, and a link to a one-minute acting scene, before the final application deadline on October 1, 2026. The full application form can be found on the festival's official website.
