Dr. Samah El-Hafny, Minister of Civil Aviation, emphasized that the continued growth in passenger and flight numbers reflects the increasing demand for travel and underscores the airport's strategic importance as a major international and regional aviation hub. The Ministry is committed to implementing development plans to enhance the airport's capacity and efficiency.
The Ministry is currently working on a new terminal, Terminal 4, which will have a capacity of 40 million passengers per year. This is part of a broader strategy to increase the airport's overall capacity to 70 million passengers per year, in line with expected growth in passenger numbers and airline operations.
