The second edition of the International Salon of Extractive Resources and Energy (SIREXE) will take place in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, from November 18 to 22, 2026. The event is under the high patronage of President Alassane Ouattara and aims to strengthen Côte d'Ivoire's position as a leading African platform in the mining, oil, and energy sectors.

SIREXE 2026 is expected to attract around 350 exhibitors and over 60,000 visitors, with nearly 40 ministerial delegations in attendance. The event will feature Botswana as the guest country of honor, with the goal of enhancing cooperation between African countries. This participation will highlight Botswana's experience in mining governance, natural resource management, and valorization.

The event's general commissioner, Mireille Niango épouse Aka, emphasized the importance of media mobilization for the event's success. She invited media professionals to contribute to the mobilization of institutional partners, economic actors, and the general public. The goal is to make the extractive industries and energy sectors major drivers of economic growth and transformation in Côte d'Ivoire.

The SIREXE 2026 theme, "Extractive industries and energy: what infrastructure to support economic development in Africa?", will focus on the strategic issue of infrastructure in the development of Africa's mining, oil, gas, and energy sectors. Despite its rich natural resources, Africa still faces significant challenges in these areas. The event aims to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and job creation, particularly for young people.

The event will take place at the Abidjan Exhibition Park and is expected to bring together decision-makers, investors, industrialists, experts, researchers, entrepreneurs, and economic actors from around the world. The first edition, held in 2024, attracted over 50,000 visitors, 300 exhibitors, and 2,200 professional participants.

The SIREXE 2026 is also expected to promote responsible and sustainable management of African resources. The event's organizers aim to ensure that the wealth of Côte d'Ivoire's natural resources and energy potential translates into infrastructure, industries, jobs, and prosperity for its populations.

Two heads of state, President Alassane Ouattara of Côte d'Ivoire and his Botswanan counterpart, Duma Boko, are expected to attend the opening ceremony. The event has already received 36 confirmations from 23 countries, including 14 countries from West Africa, six from Central Africa, one from Southern Africa, and two from North Africa.
