The Interregional Maritime Security Institute (ISMI) of the Regional Academy of Sciences and Techniques of the Sea (ARSTM) in Côte d'Ivoire has opened enrollment for several qualifying, certifying, and diploma-granting training programs for 2026. These programs target professionals in the maritime, port, and logistics sectors, focusing on security, safety, risk management, and maritime governance. The training sessions are designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of participants in various areas.

One of the announced sessions is a 10-day training program on civil drone remote piloting. This program is aimed at professionals from the maritime, port, agricultural, environmental, mining, and construction sectors, as well as surveyors, technicians, students, entrepreneurs, and journalists. The training will equip participants with the necessary skills to operate drones safely and effectively in their respective fields.

The ISMI has also scheduled a training session from October 26 to 30 on disputes related to port domain management. This program targets maritime lawyers, logistics professionals, warehouse managers, and port and customs authorities. The training will focus on the legal aspects of port domain management and dispute resolution.

Another session, set to take place from November 16 to 20, will cover the handling and management of hazardous goods transported in containers and bulk liquids, in accordance with applicable international codes. This program is designed for logistics chain actors, handlers, consignees, HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) officers, and port officials.

The ISMI has also planned two training sessions on port security, scheduled from November 30 to December 4. These sessions will focus on port facility security audits and the conduct of security exercises and drills for port facility security officers (PFSO). The programs aim to enhance the security measures and preparedness of port facilities.

In addition to these training sessions, the ISMI will launch a Master's program in Ocean Governance and Exploitation (GEDO), with a focus on fisheries, starting January 15, 2027. The 15-month program targets senior officials from administrations and companies in the fisheries sector, marine biologists, lawyers, and teachers. The program aims to provide participants with advanced knowledge and skills in ocean governance and management.

Interested individuals can obtain information and enroll in the various training programs through the ISMI. The institute's training programs are designed to meet the needs of professionals in the maritime sector and contribute to the development of a skilled workforce in Côte d'Ivoire and the wider region.
