The study for the Avant-Projet Sommaire (APS) of Côte d'Ivoire's future logistics platform in Bouaké was presented on October 8, 2026, at the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs in Abidjan. The meeting, chaired by Dioman Coné, director of cabinet for the Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs, Amadou Koné, marks a significant step towards realizing the project. The platform aims to enhance Bouaké's logistics capabilities and support the economic development of the central region of Côte d'Ivoire.

The project's objective is to provide numerous opportunities for the people of Bouaké, its region, and the entire Ivorian population. According to Dioman Coné, the Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs, Amadou Koné, places great importance on this infrastructure. The study was conducted by the Bureau national d'études techniques et de développement (BNETD). The meeting brought together members of the ministerial cabinet, representatives from the Directorate of Planning, Statistics, Prospective, and Programs (DPSPP), and delegations from Enabel and Expertise France.

The discussions focused on the technical aspects to be explored before the project's next phase. Key topics included the interconnection modalities of the future platform with the highway and railway network. The goal is to facilitate the movement of goods and improve connections between different modes of transport. The articulation of this infrastructure with several related projects was also examined, including the Freight Exchange, the Truck Call System, the San Pedro industrial zone, and the high-speed train (TGV) project.

Ensuring the coherence of the platform with other transport infrastructures and economic development projects was a major concern. The BNETD has committed to submitting a revised version of the APS document by November 21, 2026. This version will incorporate observations and requests for clarification made during the discussions. The completion of this step will pave the way for the launch of the Avant-Projet Détaillé (APD), the next stage in the project's technical development.

The future logistics platform in Bouaké aims to strengthen the city's role in the circulation and distribution of goods. The project's realization depends on the continuation of studies and the necessary decisions for its concretization. The platform is expected to have a positive impact on the region's economy and improve the living standards of the local population.

The Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs is working closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure the project's success. The involvement of Enabel and Expertise France, as well as other partners, is crucial to the project's development. The government's commitment to investing in infrastructure development is expected to boost economic growth and create new opportunities for the Ivorian people.

The project's progress will be closely monitored by the government and stakeholders. The detailed study phase will provide more insights into the project's feasibility and potential impact. The successful implementation of the logistics platform in Bouaké will serve as a model for future infrastructure development projects in Côte d'Ivoire.
