This information was presented by the regional director of transport and maritime affairs, Koré Charles, during a meeting of the local road safety committee held on September 22, 2026, at the Dabou prefecture. The committee was presided over by Kouadio Kouamé Denis, secretary general of the prefecture.
According to Koré Charles, the radars were installed on the Dabou-Grand-Lahou, Grand-Lahou-Dabou, and Jacqueville axes, and recorded varying numbers of infractions throughout the period. January saw the highest number of infractions, with 36,092 detected, which Koré Charles attributed to the increased movement of people during the New Year's period. The number of infractions gradually decreased until March, before rising again in April to 28,867, coinciding with the Easter holidays.
The months of July and August, which correspond to the school holiday period, recorded 18,801 and 19,080 infractions, respectively. Koré Charles called on road users to adopt responsible behavior and respect the prescriptions of the road code, in light of the high number of infractions detected. He emphasized the importance of road safety and encouraged all users to take necessary precautions to avoid accidents.
Ezo Amoakon Célestin, head of the large campaigns department at the Office de sécurité routière (OSER), also addressed the meeting, highlighting the importance of collective engagement in preventing accidents. He called on all actors in the mobility chain, including drivers, transporters, pedestrians, and vehicle owners, to respect road safety regulations, such as wearing seatbelts, observing speed limits, and avoiding the use of mobile phones while driving.

He emphasized that "the road is everyone's business" and that the mobilization of all users is crucial in reducing the risk of accidents.
