The outgoing president of Radio Moronou, Ané Fêtě Benjamin, has urged for a hike in the radio station's subsidy and acquisition of mobility means to boost its activities on the ground. This appeal was made during a handover ceremony with his successor, Kwabena Kouassi Stéphane, on October 1, 2026, in Bongouanou. The event was presided over by Lucie Yoboué, the first secretary general of the Bongouanou prefecture.

Radio Moronou, a rural, local, and community radio station, primarily relies on announcements, death notices, donations, and local government subsidies for its operations. However, according to Ané Fêtě Benjamin, these resources are insufficient to cover the station's running costs. He highlighted several achievements during his tenure, including the reinforcement of the radio's technical platform, which was upgraded in 2026 with the support of the Agency for Media Development Support (ASDM).

The upgrade included the provision of a 500-watt transmitter, a Yamaha mixing table, a Zoom H6 recorder, and other essential equipment. Ané Fêtě Benjamin commended the commitment of his team and acknowledged the support of various stakeholders who contributed to the success of these initiatives. He expressed his gratitude to the authorities and partners of Radio Moronou for their accompaniment.

The handover ceremony, attended by regional council members and several guests, marked a continuity between the actions undertaken during Ané Fêtě Benjamin's mandate and the future development prospects of the radio station. He wished his successor, Kwabena Kouassi Stéphane, every success and assured him of the staff's availability to support his actions.

Ané Fêtě Benjamin also encouraged the radio station's agents to collaborate with the new president and continue their engagement in fulfilling their missions. He emphasized that the current subsidy is inadequate, hindering the station's ability to effectively operate and expand its presence in the region.

The president's call for increased subsidy aims to enable Radio Moronou to improve its services and better serve the local community. The station's impact and reach can be enhanced with more resources, allowing it to play a more significant role in disseminating information and promoting local development.

Key developments during Ané Fêtě Benjamin's tenure include the successful upgrade of the radio's technical capabilities and efforts to secure additional equipment. His successor will need to navigate the challenges of sustaining and expanding the station's operations.
