In a gesture of solidarity, Ivoirian economic operator Maurice Sawadogo has donated school kits to underprivileged students at the Catholic Primary School (EPC) and the Public Primary School (EPP) in Adoukoffikro, a village in the Abengourou commune. The donation, made on September 29, 2026, also extended to children at the Abengourou socio-educational complex. This initiative, supported by the Café-Cacao council, aims to facilitate the schooling of these students in better conditions.
The donation ceremony took place at the beneficiary institutions, with parents of students present to express their gratitude. The directors of the EPC and EPP in Adoukoffikro, Mme Ebah Assoh Yah and Diomandé Loi Pascal, respectively, expressed their appreciation for the donation. Mme Ebah Assoh Yah noted that this gesture of solidarity has become a habit for Sawadogo during every back-to-school season. Diomandé Loi Pascal highlighted that some students lacked the basic necessities to start school, including bags and slates.
At the Abengourou socio-educational complex, director Mme Kadio N'Goran also expressed her gratitude to Maurice Sawadogo. She emphasized that the school kits constitute valuable support for many families that regularly seek assistance from the structure. Sawadogo explained that, having experienced similar difficulties himself, he wanted to find a way to ease the burden on these families.
Sawadogo expressed his joy in seeing the children's smiles return thanks to the school supplies, enabling them to return to school with greater serenity. As someone accustomed to undertaking such social actions, he called on others to follow his example, allowing more underprivileged children to attend school in good conditions.
In addition to the donation, Maurice Sawadogo, who is also the sixth deputy mayor of Abengourou, pledged to seek solutions to address the shortage of desks and benches in the beneficiary schools. He aims to promote better learning conditions and enable children to pursue their education, ultimately becoming future leaders in the country.
