The Côte d'Ivoire government has identified over 2.8 billion FCFA in investments for various projects in the Bongouanou department. This information was presented during the 4th ordinary session of the Moronou Regional Council, which took place on September 25, 2026, at the Bongouanou prefecture.
In the education sector, several projects are underway, focusing on the construction and rehabilitation of classrooms, administrative buildings, and sanitation facilities. For instance, in N'Zuékokoré, a four-classroom school building and an administrative building with sanitation facilities have been completed. Another four-classroom building is currently under construction. Additionally, projects are being implemented in Bongouanou and surrounding areas, including the modern lycée in Bongouanou and schools in N'Guinou, Aboussounou, and Assaoufoué.
The healthcare sector is also a significant recipient of investments, with projects aimed at rehabilitating maternity wards and dispensaries, constructing integrated health centers, acquiring biomedical equipment, and building staff housing. Completed projects include the rehabilitation of maternity wards and dispensaries in Ahounienfoutou and Bocassi. Furthermore, efforts to improve access to clean water are ongoing, with the implementation of improved village hydraulic systems, boreholes, and water towers in various locations.
Road infrastructure development is another key area of focus, with plans to rehabilitate critical sections of roads. For example, the reprofiling and treatment of critical points on the Fronobo-N'Dolikro axis, spanning 10 km, is slated for 2026 at a cost of 85 million FCFA. Additionally, the treatment of the N'Zuékokoré-Fotikotché axis, covering 13 km, is planned for 2027 at a cost of 100 million FCFA.
Investments also extend to socio-economic infrastructure, including the rehabilitation of markets, construction of warehouses, and the development of youth centers. Specifically, the Brou-Akpaoussou market is undergoing rehabilitation, and 55 hectares in Broukro are being developed for residential and commercial use. These projects aim to enhance the quality of life for residents and stimulate local economic growth.
A breakdown of the financial allocations shows that Bongouanou will receive 997,317,924 FCFA, N'Guessankro 925,769,044 FCFA, Andé 471,208,096 FCFA, and Assié-Koumassi 413,786,393 FCFA. It is essential to note that the total amount represents the cost of all identified projects and may not reflect completed expenditures, as the projects are at various stages of implementation, attribution, or planning.
