The Fédération des organisations professionnelles agricoles de la filière hévéa de Côte d'Ivoire (FPH-CI) recently organized an information and sensitization day in Daoukro, Côte d'Ivoire. On September 10, 2026, the event brought together rubber producers to discuss ongoing projects and new opportunities in the sector. This annual meeting aimed to update producers on developments in the industry, FPH-CI projects, and additional revenue streams from rubber cultivation.
FPH-CI's president, Dally Jules, highlighted that these gatherings inform producers about current issues, innovations, and opportunities to increase their income and improve living conditions. He mentioned a new mechanism for fixing natural rubber prices, which raises the producers' share from 63% to 66% of the turnover and eliminates a 2% discount. This move is expected to benefit producers directly.
The valorization of rubber seeds and wood from mature plantations were also emphasized during the event. The 2026 marketing campaign for rubber seeds began on August 17 in Abidjan. Furthermore, efforts to utilize wood from exhausted plantations have commenced, with Dally Jules noting that "everything is now being sold in the rubber sector." He encouraged producers with aging plantations or unused land to collaborate with FPH-CI under the emergency replanting and extension program.
A new sector office for FPH-CI in Daoukro was inaugurated, marking a significant step in strengthening the federation's presence in the Iffou region. This office will serve as a shared space for various stakeholders in the rubber industry. The construction reflects FPH-CI's commitment to enhancing its connection with local producers and facilitating their access to information and resources.
During the ceremony, FPH-CI's executive director, Gbahi Djoua Luc, presented various projects and urged village delegates to accelerate the registration of producers. Accurate identification of members is crucial for effective planning and access to projects and operations within the sector. The federation currently has over 240,000 registered producers and continues its registration drive.
The registration process aims to provide producers with membership cards, officially recognizing their participation in the rubber industry. This initiative is part of FPH-CI's broader efforts to organize and support producers across Côte d'Ivoire. The Daoukro sector, with 347 village delegates, is one of the largest and most active within the federation.
Local authorities, represented by Zemin-Bi Kouassi, secretary general of the prefecture, welcomed the new infrastructure and encouraged producers to seize opportunities arising from the valorization of rubber seeds and wood. With 26 sectors across Côte d'Ivoire, FPH-CI continues to play a pivotal role in the country's rubber industry, promoting sustainable practices and improving the livelihoods of thousands of producers.
