A recent mission led by Guy Michel Okon, head of Côte d'Ivoire's Bureau de coordination des programmes emploi (BCP-Emploi), has expressed satisfaction with the progress of the third phase of the Projet emploi jeunes et développement des compétences (PEJEDEC 3) and the third Contrat de désendettement et de développement (C2D3) in the Moronou region. The visit, which took place on October 26-27, 2026, aimed to assess the implementation of these programs designed to promote socio-professional integration of young people.

The mission began with a working session with Kwabena Kouassi Stéphane, first vice-president of the regional council, the project team, and local partners, including PFS and BEDPR, as well as the COOPEC microfinance institution. Discussions focused on the progress of activities and implementation of sub-projects, including income-generating activities, micro and small enterprises, village savings and credit associations, and agropastoral and agro-food incubators.

The BCP-Emploi delegation then visited beneficiaries to verify project implementation, gather testimonials, and assess the socio-economic impact of the initiatives. These programs are being implemented in the region under the leadership of Véronique Aka Amanan, president of the regional council, to promote youth autonomy and professional integration.

The PEJEDEC 3 and C2D3 projects aim to address youth unemployment and promote economic growth in the Moronou region. The programs have made significant progress, with various sub-projects underway, including the creation of income-generating activities, micro and small enterprises, and agropastoral and agro-food incubators.

The BCP-Emploi mission praised the commitment of local stakeholders, including the regional council and project partners, in implementing these programs. The visit also provided an opportunity for the delegation to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations for future project implementation.
