The President of the Regional Peace Council of Goh-Djiboua, Ambassador Ambroise Kessié, announced on November 1 that approximately 50 new peace ambassadors will be distinguished in the region. The ceremony is scheduled for November 7, in collaboration with the Federation for Universal Peace of Côte d'Ivoire (FPU-CI). This initiative aims to expand the network of individuals engaged in promoting peace in the region.

The new peace ambassadors come from various backgrounds, including economic, political, cultural, sports, social, and artistic sectors. They are from localities such as Gagnoa, Oumé, Lakota, Divo, Guibéroua, and Ouragahio. The list of recipients includes notable figures like former President-General of Fraternité Matin, Alexis Zékré, economic operator Hariri Youssef, and Lakota Mayor, Prince Arthur Dally.

According to Ambassador Ambroise Kessié, the goal is to consolidate peace, social cohesion, and national unity in the Goh-Djiboua region. The initiative seeks to bring together individuals who will work alongside existing ambassadors of Goh-Djiboua and Côte d'Ivoire in promoting peace. The new ambassadors will undergo training or capacity-building on the five universal principles of peace promoted by the FPU.

The five universal principles of peace emphasize humanity as one family, the spiritual and moral dimension of human nature, the role of family in learning love and peace, altruism, and universal cooperation based on dialogue and common actions. These principles transcend ethnic, national, and religious barriers.

The Federation for Universal Peace was founded on September 12, 2005, by Reverend Sun Myung Moon and his wife, Hak Ja Han Moon. The organization aims to promote peace and unity globally. In Côte d'Ivoire, the FPU-CI has partnered with the Regional Peace Council to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to promoting peace.

The upcoming ceremony on November 7 will recognize the contributions of the new peace ambassadors. This event is expected to strengthen the peace network in the Goh-Djiboua region and promote unity among local leaders. The ambassadors will be equipped with knowledge and skills to effectively promote peace and social cohesion.

The selection of new peace ambassadors reflects the efforts of the Regional Peace Council and the FPU-CI to engage various stakeholders in promoting peace and unity in Côte d'Ivoire. This initiative demonstrates the commitment of local leaders to building a more harmonious and peaceful society.
