The mining group Allied Gold has handed over a new residence to the sub-prefect of Hiré, in the presence of the regional prefect and departmental prefect of Divo, Womblégnon Célestin, municipal authorities, village chiefs, security force commanders, and representatives of young people and women. The handover ceremony took place on October 29, 2026, at the new residence.
The new residence is a seven-room villa with a veranda in the courtyard, a concrete platform, and a landscaped courtyard, built on a 3600m² plot surrounded by a fence. The representative of Allied Gold's general management, Pierre Ehoussou, said the residence aims to improve working and reception conditions for prefectural authorities, strengthening administrative infrastructure in Hiré.
The representative of Hiré's mayor, Dadié Djah Célestin, praised the collaboration with Allied Gold and its efforts to honor commitments. He welcomed the new residence, saying it symbolizes the common will to strengthen state authority and provide dignified working and living conditions for the sub-prefect.
The regional prefect, Womblégnon Célestin, expressed satisfaction with the quality of work done and thanked Allied Gold, the community, Hiré's elected officials, and the contractor for completing the project. He noted that Allied Gold's management was attentive to the project's progress and flexible in modifying the budget to improve the residence's functionality.
The project to build the sub-prefect's residence is part of a resettlement action plan linked to the extension of Hiré's mine. Allied Gold committed to this project in 2022 through a protocol agreement with communities, administrative authorities, and local elected officials, allocating 250 million CFA francs for priority community projects, including the new residence.
The construction work began in April 2025 and was completed on October 22, 2026. This residence is the last project under the protocol agreement, which also enabled Allied Gold to provide Hiré's municipality with a large waste collection truck, five waste bins, a public dump, and training for machine operators, as well as a generator for the urban health center.
Allied Gold owns gold mines in Hiré, Agbaou, and Bonikro, operating in the sub-prefectures of Hiré and Zégo. The company's efforts to improve local infrastructure and services have been recognized by local authorities and communities.
