The construction of a strong and sovereign nation requires the daily behaviors of its citizens, according to Burkina Faso's ruling party, the Révolution progressiste populaire (RPP). On November 3, 2026, a public conference was held at the University of Ouagadougou to discuss civism, citizenship, patriotic commitment, and the ideals of the RPP. The authorities aim to promote civic values and mobilize populations around the country's development projects.

The Minister of Justice, Me Edasso Rodrigue Bayala, presided over the meeting on behalf of the President of Faso. He emphasized the importance of making civism a daily practice, citing respect for laws, public goods, and others' property, as well as punctuality, probity, and a sense of duty. The Minister expressed his ambition to see these behaviors become ingrained in all areas of social life, stressing that simple daily actions build a strong and prosperous nation.

Me Edasso Rodrigue Bayala highlighted initiatives for endogenous development, such as the construction of school and health infrastructure, and contributions to the fighting forces. He sees these as concrete manifestations of patriotic commitment and ownership of RPP ideals, which are based on sovereignty, dignity, integrity, social justice, and self-reliance. The Minister also emphasized the role of each citizen in preserving peace and social cohesion.

The Minister called on all citizens, leaders, and stakeholders to be artisans of peace in their administration, families, and communities. He stated that public conferences aim to promote these values nationwide, including in rural areas. This initiative follows conferences organized in 2025 in the 13 former regions, with a new phase planning meetings in the 47 provinces to promote citizenship and a culture of peace.

Maurice Konaté, President of the Special Delegation of Ouagadougou, expressed satisfaction with the strong participation in the meeting and the relevance of the messages delivered. He welcomed the emphasis on peace, social cohesion, civism, and patriotism, considering these essential values to promote nationally. Konaté expressed the wish to make the Kadiogo region a reference in promoting these values.

The campaign's objective is to make each citizen an actor of peace, civism, and development in Burkina Faso. The initiative aims to strengthen the appropriation of civic values and mobilize populations around the country's development projects. By promoting these values, the RPP hopes to build a strong and sovereign nation.

The public conferences will continue in the 47 provinces of Burkina Faso, with the goal of promoting citizenship and a culture of peace while supporting state-led development actions. The RPP's emphasis on civism and patriotism is expected to have a positive impact on social cohesion and the country's development.
