A delegation from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Burkina Faso (CCI-BF), led by its president, Roland Sow, visited the Fassi detergent factory in Pabré on November 3, 2026. This visit was part of the annual visits to companies organized by the consular institution. The Fassi factory, located on the northwest periphery of Ouagadougou, was inaugurated on March 6, 2025, by the President of Faso.

The Fassi factory, built on a one-hectare site with the potential to expand to four hectares, was constructed at a cost of 4.5 billion CFA francs. The factory, owned by a private Burkinabè promoter, has a production capacity of 300 tonnes per day and employs hundreds of people. The CCI-BF delegation was able to see firsthand the progress made by the factory, which has been operational for over a year.

After meeting with the factory's top officials, Roland Sow and his delegation toured the different production units, including the sections dedicated to the manufacture of Fassi detergents. At the end of the visit, Sow expressed his satisfaction, stating that Fassi offers "very good quality" products. He encouraged the promoter and employees, emphasizing the importance of supporting local industries to avoid relying on imports.

The Director-General of Fassi, Abdoul Karim Dianda, representing the promoter who was absent during the visit, welcomed the initiative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Burkina Faso. He expressed his satisfaction with the interest shown in the company and highlighted the efforts to diversify production through a range of products. Dianda also presented part of the factory currently under construction, which is an extension of the site.

Abdoul Karim Dianda took the opportunity to express his gratitude to the Burkinabè people, who, according to him, have adopted Fassi products. With the local market conquered, Fassi aims to expand its reach internationally. "Our work will now consist of making our new products known and promoting them outside Burkina Faso as well," he said.

The Fassi factory's growth and expansion plans align with the Burkinabè government's efforts to promote local industries and reduce reliance on imports. The visit by the CCI-BF delegation demonstrates the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors to support economic development. Roland Sow emphasized that countries that have abandoned their industrial sectors have become vulnerable to uncontrolled imports.

The Fassi factory's achievements and future plans are a testament to the potential for growth and development in Burkina Faso's industrial sector. With continued support from the government and other stakeholders, local industries like Fassi can contribute significantly to the country's economic growth and development. Key points include the Fassi factory's production capacity of 300 tonnes per day, its employment of hundreds of people, and its plans for international expansion.
