The cultural evening of the 8th edition of the International Pulaaku Festival took place on October 31, 2026, at the CENASA in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The event was an opportunity for promoters to reaffirm the unity of cultures and promote social cohesion in the country. Several ethnic communities, alongside the Peul community, took to the podium, and artists, singers, and public personalities all conveyed the same message of unity among communities.

Boureima Barry, coordinator of the International Pulaaku Festival, emphasized that promoting unity is the primary objective of the event. He stated that the festival aims to advocate for unity and rally people through culture. According to Barry, culture is a unique bridge that allows people to appreciate and love each other's cultures, fostering a sense of oneness and indivisibility.

Bintou Diallo, the festival's patron, expressed her satisfaction with the event, noting that it will enable communities to discover the Peul culture in all its facets. She believes that the festival will help dispel stigmas and misconceptions about the Peul community, allowing for a deeper understanding and appreciation of their culture.

The festival also provided a platform for the Peul community to rediscover its potential. As part of the event, the organizing committee organized a competition for the most beautiful hairstyle and an oratory art competition. Five candidates, dressed in traditional Peul attire and adorned with jewelry and hairstyles, paraded before a jury and the public, with the winner receiving a trophy, 30,000 FCFA, and documents in Fulfulde.
