The Committee of Sons and Daughters of Goundi (CFFG) organized the 8th edition of the School Excellence Day in the Sanguié province, Nando region, on September 26, 2026. The event, themed "Education: A Resilient Enterprise for a Strong Nation," aimed to reward and value students' merit and success, as well as teachers' and the community's commitment. A total of 126 students from primary to secondary school, representing three primary schools and one high school, were honored for their achievements during the 2025-2026 academic year.
The students' performances reflected a strong collaboration between students, teachers, and families. Goundi A primary school recorded a 95.89% success rate, while Goundi B and Goundi C achieved 90.72% and 100%, respectively. The Goundi high school reached a 72.54% success rate. These results demonstrate, according to the organizers, the symbiotic relationship between students' efforts, teachers' dedication, and families' support.
The award-winning students received school kits and bicycles. The top six students in the CM2 class, who excelled in the CEP exam, each received a bicycle, a bag, and notebooks. Three tablet computers were also awarded to the three best teachers of the CM2 classes from the three primary schools. Additionally, the best teachers received recognition certificates and other prizes for their hard work.
The recipients expressed gratitude to the donors, with Sidonie Badolo, a laureate and first-year high school student, stating that the awards motivated her to redouble her efforts. She promised to be the top student in her school for the 2026-2027 academic year. According to Alain N'Do, the event aimed to value the merit of teachers, students, and the entire educational community.
Bassana Jonas Bazié, promoter of the journal Le Minier Plus and event sponsor, congratulated the laureates on their discipline and hard work. He encouraged students who were not awarded to persevere and urged parents, teachers, and the community to unite and invest in youth to build a solid future and a resilient nation.
Bakouli Blaise Bazié, prosecutor of the Faso near the Ouaga 1 Tribunal de grande instance (TGI), praised the awarded students for their work and discipline. He emphasized that excellence is a continuous learning process that requires humility and perseverance. He also encouraged non-awarded students, stressing that only determination matters and that every child in Goundi can succeed and achieve their dreams.
The prosecutor near the TGI of Ouaga 1 commended the dedication of school directors, teachers, pedagogical cadres, parents, authorities, and sponsors who support the school daily and accompany this initiative. He thanked the organizing committee for transforming academic success into a genuine celebration for the entire village, highlighting that success is not a coincidence but the result of hard work, discipline, and sacrifices.
