Dr. Betta Edu, Director of Women Mobilisation for APC, PCC, has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will win the 2027 presidential election. She made this statement at the 2026 Pre-Inaugural Women’s Summit and Empowerment Programme held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja. The event was organised under the theme, “Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity- One Voice, One Movement, One Choice, One Mandate 2027.”
The programme was convened by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and attended by notable figures including the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima; the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari; Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma; and former APC National Chairman, Umar Abdullahi Ganduje. The event featured a lively rendition of a song in support of President Tinubu, led by Dr. Edu.
During the event, Dr. Edu declared that Tinubu would remain President of Nigeria until 2031. She said APC women were already mobilising across the country to secure a strong mandate for Tinubu and his deputy, Kashim Shettima, in 2027. The women’s mobilisation campaign is targeting 40 million votes, with structures being activated by the First Lady across the 36 states, the FCT, 774 local government areas, wards, communities, and polling units.
According to Dr. Edu, the initiative is not limited to campaign rallies but is designed to create a grassroots network through which women leaders can engage communities and communicate the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration. The mobilisation will also focus on opportunities for women in enterprise, agriculture, skills development, governance, and community development.
Dr. Edu urged APC women to remain united and organised ahead of the election, declaring, “40 Million Women Votes! One Coordinated Mobilisation! One Voice, One Movement, One Mandate for 2027.” The event also featured the empowerment of women beneficiaries with various support items to strengthen their livelihoods. The First Lady presented some of the items, including motorbikes and farm trucks, to beneficiaries.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu also held a closed-door meeting with female APC candidates and other dignitaries on the sidelines of the programme. The meeting was aimed at discussing strategies for mobilising and empowering women for the 2027 election. The First Lady has been actively involved in initiatives aimed at supporting women across the country.
The APC women’s mobilisation campaign is gaining momentum, with Dr. Edu expressing confidence in the party’s chances of winning the 2027 election. The campaign is expected to play a crucial role in securing a strong mandate for President Tinubu and his deputy, Kashim Shettima.
