The Bank of Industry (BOI) has introduced a new online platform, MyBOI Portal, to enable Nigerian businesses to apply for financing facilities easily. The portal, which went live recently, allows new and existing customers to register, complete their business profiles, submit loan applications and supporting documents, and monitor the progress of their applications. This move aims to make it easier for businesses to access BOI's financing facilities and reduce the time needed to process applications.

Nigerian businesses registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) can apply for BOI financing, depending on the requirements of the particular facility. To be eligible, applicants must have a valid Bank Verification Number (BVN) for the owner or directors, a verifiable business bank account, and meet BOI's credit and cash flow requirements. Businesses in various sectors, including manufacturing, agro-processing, digital economy, creative industries, and energy, may qualify for financing, depending on the financing program.

To apply for BOI financing, businesses can access the MyBOI Portal through the official website or the bank's mobile application. The application process involves creating an account, completing a business profile, selecting a financing facility, preparing and uploading required documents, and submitting the application. The required documents may include CAC registration documents, valid government-issued identification, BVN, business bank account details, and bank statements.

The amount of financing a business can access depends on factors such as the size of the business, transaction history, cash flow, credit profile, and ability to repay. BOI offers financing for different types of businesses, including micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, as well as large businesses. The bank's FAQ states that most applications receive an initial response within two to four weeks, and processing time depends on the type of facility and whether the applicant provides complete documents.

BOI advises applicants to ensure that all information and documents submitted are accurate and complete, as inaccurate information could lead to delays or rejection of an application. The bank also advises customers to access MyBOI only through its official channels and not to share their passwords, OTPs, or login details with other people. Existing customers whose applications were submitted before the launch of MyBOI have been advised to continue with the existing process instead of submitting a new application through the portal.

Submitting an application through the MyBOI Portal does not guarantee approval, as every request is assessed based on the relevant credit and eligibility requirements. The portal also provides access to BOI's Non-Interest Banking facilities for businesses seeking Shariah-compliant financing. Such applications are handled by BOI's Non-Interest Banking division and assessed according to Shariah principles.

Businesses can monitor their applications through their MyBOI dashboard after submission, and the portal sends notifications at important stages of the process. With the launch of the MyBOI Portal, BOI aims to enhance the efficiency and accessibility of its financing facilities for Nigerian businesses.
