Bank of India Uganda Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bank of India, one of India's largest public sector banks, is seeking a Banking Assistant - IT. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing software, assisting other staff members in resolving IT issues, and liaising with vendors and the data center to quickly resolve issues with the core banking system and other software. The bank was registered in Uganda in 2011 and granted a license by the Bank of Uganda on March 13, 2012.

The Banking Assistant - IT will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the bank's IT systems. Key duties and responsibilities include testing the compatibility of new programs with existing ones, providing support for end-user devices, operating systems, printers, mobile devices, and standard business applications. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Business Computing, and at least two years of working experience in a bank or financial institution in IT.

The bank offers a range of personal and corporate banking services, including instant fund transfers and foreign exchange products. Bank of India Uganda Limited officially started operations on June 18, 2012, with its first branch in Kampala, Uganda. The bank's parent company, Bank of India, was established in 1906 and has over 100 years of banking expertise.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide support for remote and on-site troubleshooting using approved tools and procedures, monitor system alerts, outages, and performance issues, and escalate critical incidents promptly. They will also assist in preparing MIS and data reports, service level compliance, and incident trends, and support problem management efforts by identifying recurring issues and contributing to root cause analysis.

The Banking Assistant - IT will be required to participate in IT projects, system upgrades, and service improvement initiatives, and stay updated with new technologies and best practices relevant to end-user support. They will also be responsible for implementing security standards in the bank and ensuring compliance with IT policies, procedures, and standards.
