The government of Sudan's Gezira state has taken steps to promote arts and culture, with the recent opening of an art exhibition titled "Al-Karama" in the state capital, Madani. The exhibition, organized by the Gezira Artists' Collective in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Information, features works by 12 artists. The event was attended by Gezira State's Wali (Governor) representative, Murad al-Bilal, and Minister of Culture and Information, Abd al-Rahman Ibrahim.

The exhibition aims to document the sacrifices of young people during the war and their role in defending the country. Al-Bilal emphasized the importance of cultural and artistic activities in the post-war recovery phase, citing their role in promoting creativity, improving public morale, and providing psychological and social support. He also highlighted the government's interest in youth programs and projects.

The Ministry of Culture and Information in Gezira state is set to launch a cultural season, focusing on youth and their creative endeavors. The minister, Abd al-Rahman Ibrahim, announced that the season would include various events and activities, and that the ministry is working to renovate and maintain several cultural institutions, including the radio and television stations, the cultural center, and the Gezira Theater.

The cultural season is expected to provide a platform for young artists to showcase their talents. Ibrahim praised the support of the state government for the ministry's programs and projects. Meanwhile, Fatima Abdallah Ahmad Ibrahim, head of the Visual Arts Department at the ministry, revealed that the exhibition features works in various styles, including landscape, still life, portrait, and expressive art.

The Gezira Artists' Collective, which organized the exhibition, comprises over 100 artists. Fatima Abdallah announced that the collective plans to continue organizing exhibitions and workshops in preparation for participation in the "Al-Karama" exhibition. The current exhibition is part of these efforts, showcasing the works of 12 artists from the collective.

On the sidelines of the event, the representative of the Wali of Gezira state opened the library at the cultural center and visited the accompanying book exhibition. The government's efforts to promote arts and culture are seen as a step towards recovery and development in the state.
