The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has announced the appointment of key members to its presidential campaign council, led by its presidential candidate and Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde. Felix Hassan Hyat, a former Minister of State for Aviation and Kaduna State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been appointed as Director-General of the National Campaign Management Committee (NCMC). This move is part of Makinde's efforts to strengthen the party's campaign ahead of the 2027 election.
Hyat's appointment brings extensive experience in public service and a wide political network to the campaign. He will lead the efforts to promote the "Reset Nigeria" message to all Nigerians and secure victory for the APM. Alongside Hyat, Hajia Inna Ciroma, a former Minister of Women Affairs, has been appointed as Deputy Director-General (Administration), and Hon. Dr. Anthony Aziegbemi as Deputy Director-General (Operations). These appointments aim to bolster the campaign's organisation and engagement across the country.
The APM presidential campaign council will work closely with the party's National Leader and Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, and National Chairman, Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, to build a coordinated national campaign. The council will comprise various directors and deputies appointed by Makinde, including Alh. Hamza Akuyam Koshe, Director, Contact and Mobilisation, and Barr. Mark Jacob, Director, Legal and Compliance.
Other notable appointments include Dr. Ade Adeagbo as Director, Administration and Strategy, Richard Ihediwa, Director, Strategic Communications, and Alh. Yusuf Ismaila Alkali, Director, Finance. Dr. Emmanuel Dennis has been appointed as Director, Volunteers, Special Interests and Support Groups. These appointments reflect the party's efforts to assemble a diverse team with expertise in various areas.
According to Anthony Ehilebo, Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication to Makinde, the appointments bring together extensive experience in political strategy, administration, and mobilisation. The team is expected to play a crucial role in promoting the APM's manifesto and securing support from Nigerians.
The APM's presidential campaign is expected to focus on the "Reset Nigeria" message, which aims to revitalise the country's economy, improve infrastructure, and enhance the overall well-being of citizens. With Hyat at the helm, the campaign is expected to gain momentum in the coming weeks.
As the 2027 election approaches, the APM's campaign council will face stiff competition from other political parties. However, with its new appointments, the party is confident of securing a significant share of the vote. The council's success will depend on its ability to effectively communicate the party's manifesto and engage with voters across the country.
