The Renewed Hope for Youth Development and Empowerment Initiative (RHYDEI), an All Progressives Congress (APC) youth group, has pledged to mobilise 20 million votes for President Bola Tinubu's re-election in the 2027 general elections. The group's National Coordinator, Prince Abayomi Johnson Odeniran, made this commitment at the official unveiling of RHYDEI in Abuja. The event, held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, marked the beginning of the group's efforts to ensure Tinubu's second term in office.
According to Odeniran, RHYDEI will focus on delivering votes across all 774 local government areas (LGAs) in Nigeria. The group plans to establish a network of 10,000 trained youth ambassadors across the states to promote the achievements of the Tinubu administration. These ambassadors will engage with the public on the streets, social media, and in markets to explain the initiatives and policies of the current administration.
RHYDEI also aims to partner with Federal Government agencies to create at least one million jobs before the 2027 general elections. The group will work with relevant agencies to ensure that young Nigerians benefit from skills acquisition programmes, grants, and loans. This initiative is part of RHYDEI's broader strategy to demonstrate the impact of the Tinubu administration's policies on the lives of young Nigerians.
Odeniran expressed his confidence in Tinubu's leadership, commending him for his efforts to reform the economy and restore hope to young Nigerians. He specifically praised the President for removing the fuel subsidy and dismantling the alleged cabal behind it. RHYDEI's National Coordinator assured Tinubu that the group is fully prepared to work for his re-election and secure his second term in office.
The unveiling of RHYDEI also highlighted the group's plans to counter opposition and propaganda against Tinubu. Odeniran criticised those who paid dollars to an American law firm to embarrass the President during the ongoing 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. He vowed that RHYDEI will not allow anyone to use dollars or propaganda to pull Tinubu down, describing him as a leader whom God has graced.
The event concluded with the inauguration of coordinators for the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). These coordinators will oversee RHYDEI's activities at the state level, ensuring that the group's objectives are achieved across Nigeria. The inauguration marked a significant milestone in RHYDEI's efforts to mobilise support for Tinubu's re-election.
