Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is well-positioned to win any election in the state. He made this statement during the party's mobilisation and campaign activities in Ologbo Ward 9 and 10, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of the state. Okpebholo attributed the party's strong position to its firmly established structure across the state.
The Governor emphasized that the mobilisation exercise aims to strengthen the party at the grassroots and ensure its candidates receive the necessary support. During the event, Okpebholo presented the party's Senatorial candidate, Ogbeide Ihama, House of Representatives candidate, Mr Felix Igbinovia, and House of Assembly candidate, Mr Clement Ikponmwonsa, to party faithful at the various campaign grounds. He thanked the people for their support for his administration and for coming out in large numbers despite the rainfall, while assuring them that his government would continue to work for the development of the state.
Earlier, Mr Jarrett Tenebe, state Chairman of the party, said the party was targeting 2.5 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the state in the next general election. Tenebe said the party leadership had commenced mobilisation across the 18 local government areas to achieve the target, adding that the governor and his deputy, Dennis Idahosa, had been visiting communities and engaging party members.
Mr Sunny Ogbewe, APC Chairman in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, said the governor's visit had boosted the morale of party members in the area. Ogbewe said Ikpoba-Okha, which he described as having one of the largest numbers of registered voters in the state, would work to deliver substantial votes for the APC. He also said the party had commenced mobilisation and would continue to engage residents and party members ahead of the elections.
