The local authorities in Béjaïa, Algeria, have embarked on an ambitious program to refurbish the city's road network. Additional roads are scheduled for renovation starting next week, such as the route connecting the 1000, 300, and 600 housing units in Iheddaden, the Boulevard des Aurès axis, and the Rond-point Daouadji – Cristal 2. Other areas targeted for improvement include the Boulevard Amirouche, the road to the Adrar neighborhood, and the route from the 1000 housing units to the Takhribt bridge. Despite the scope of this program, numerous roads in several Béjaïa neighborhoods remain in a poor state.
Residents have expressed concerns about the condition of certain roads, highlighting the need for urgent attention. A Tala Markha resident emphasized that the road to Oussama, which connects to RN24 and the west coast beaches, is a priority. The resident urged local authorities to redouble their efforts to refurbish several roads that have been in a deplorable state for years.

A Sidi Ahmed resident pointed out that the 612 housing units in blocks D6 and D5 have not been included in any program since 2007, despite repeated promises.
