Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has called for Kenya's next generation of leaders to prioritize economic freedom for citizens. He described this as the country's "fourth liberation", building on previous achievements such as independence, multiparty democracy, and the 2010 Constitution. Amisi emphasized that this goal would require collective effort and would not be easily achieved.

Amisi cited Kenya's history of overcoming seemingly insurmountable challenges, including the struggle against colonial rule and the fight for multiparty democracy. He mentioned leaders such as Koitalel Arap Samoei, Mekatilili wa Menza, Jomo Kenyatta, and Oginga Odinga, who contributed to these achievements. Amisi argued that the current generation must work together to address the country's economic challenges.

The MP highlighted the significance of the 2010 Constitution, which was the result of years of struggle and negotiation. He stated that it is now the current generation's turn to focus on economic liberation. Amisi drew inspiration from recent protests led by young Kenyans, which demonstrated their capacity to challenge established practices.

Amisi proposed several strategies for achieving economic transformation, including industrialization, reducing dependence on imported goods, and creating an environment that attracts investment. He also emphasized the need to prepare young people for the technology and artificial intelligence economy and to improve public debt management.

The MP called for greater scrutiny of public finances, including efforts to recover assets allegedly stolen and to prosecute corrupt individuals. He emphasized the importance of adhering to the Constitution and promoting national unity. Amisi argued that ethnicity should not determine who gets an opportunity to lead the country.

Amisi advocated for equal opportunities for Kenyans from all communities to seek leadership positions, including the presidency. He mentioned that individuals from various ethnic groups, such as the Giriama, Turkana, and Maasai, deserve the same chance at the presidency as those from more dominant groups.

Amisi concluded by emphasizing that achieving economic freedom is possible if Kenyans work collectively and remain committed to their goals. He expressed optimism about the potential for the country's younger generation to drive positive change.
