Amansie Community Bank PLC has reached a significant milestone, becoming the first community bank in the Ashanti Region to mobilize GH¢1 billion in deposits. The bank achieved this feat at its 41st annual general meeting, where it also reported a record GH¢73 million pre-tax profit for the year ended December 2025. This remarkable growth is a testament to the bank's consistent performance over the past three years.
The bank's deposit base grew by 48 per cent from GH¢687.82 million recorded in 2024, with most of the new money flowing into Savings and Susu accounts. Susu is a traditional daily or periodic savings system widely used by traders and small business owners across Ghana. The strong contribution of Susu to the bank's deposit growth highlights the continued reliance on that informal savings culture even as the institution expands its formal banking services.
Amansie Community Bank PLC's profit after tax rose to GH¢50.98 million, up from GH¢26.20 million in 2024, an increase of 94.57 per cent. Total assets climbed from GH¢761.7 million in 2024 to GH¢1,156.7 million in 2025, a jump of 51.8 per cent, driven by growth in investments, cash and bank balances, and loans and advances. The bank's impressive financial performance demonstrates its ability to grow and expand its operations.
The bank granted a net GH¢80 million in loans and advances during the year, representing a 77 per cent rise over the previous year. This significant increase in lending demonstrates the bank's commitment to supporting small and medium-scale businesses in the region. Shareholders are set to receive a higher dividend payout, with a total dividend of GH¢10.19 million, equivalent to GH¢0.1459 per share, recommended for payment.
The bank's Chief Executive Officer, Frederick Kwakye Kyei, emphasized the need to consolidate operations to hold on to the gains made over the past three years. He stated that the institution needs to generate more revenue and get more profits. The bank's Board Chairman, Ben Kwakye-Adeefe, highlighted plans to draw funds from the microfinance sector and extend credit to small and medium-scale businesses.
The board is also considering a proposal to support other struggling community banks in meeting their minimum capital requirements set by the Bank of Ghana, the country's central banking regulator. This move demonstrates the bank's commitment to supporting the growth and development of the community banking sector in Ghana.
Beyond its financial results, Amansie Community Bank PLC revived its scholarship scheme in 2025, investing GH¢47,500 to cover full tuition for ten students. The bank remains committed to serving customers' financial needs while expanding its digital banking platforms. The scholarship scheme is a testament to the bank's dedication to giving back to the community.
