Chief Ally Kgomongwe, the boss of Amawele FC, has parted ways with coaches Mpumelelo 'Mapoo' Ngwenya and Christian Thwala following their 3-0 defeat in the MTN Premier League opener. The controversy surrounding the team's kit, which featured the unapproved Mbabane Eagles emblem, has also sparked debate among football supporters. Kgomongwe argued that there is a precedent for clubs modifying their identities, citing Mbabane Highlanders' addition of 'AM' to their name last season.
