Algoa Nissan has received the top honour at Nissan South Africa's Ignition Awards, held in Pretoria. The dealership was awarded the overall dealer of the year title, which acknowledges the dealerships that South African Nissan owners rely on for sales, service, and finance. This prestigious award was presented during the inaugural three-day Festival of Nissan, which featured the launch of the new Tekton.

In addition to Algoa Nissan's overall dealer of the year award, other dealerships across South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa were recognised in multiple categories. NTT Nissan Bloemfontein won the large dealership title, NTT Nissan Secunda took the medium category, and Algoa Nissan won the small segment. Algoa Nissan also excelled in specific categories, including aftersales department, new vehicle sales department, and customer quality, sales, and service.

The NTT Group was named dealer group of the year, demonstrating its exceptional performance across its dealership network. Other notable winners included DTM Helderberg and NTT Nissan Gaborone, which took the aftersales awards in the medium and large categories, respectively. Autocity Nissan Heidelberg won the medium new vehicle sales award, while Mark White Nissan secured both the large customer quality and large finance dealer awards.

In the Nissan Independent Markets Africa (NIMA) region, Ghana's Japan Motors was named the best dealership. Japan Motors Trading Company also won the award for most consistent market share performance. Motorcare Mozambique LDA was recognised for its outstanding customer satisfaction, sales, and service.

Nissan executives emphasised the importance of the dealer network in shaping the brand's future in South Africa and across Africa. Nissan Africa President Jordi Vila stated that products open the door, but dealers build the relationship. Nissan South Africa managing director Juan Wheeler highlighted the significance of South Africa as one of Nissan's most important markets on the continent, with a 65-year heritage.

Nissan Africa head of brand and communications Ramy Mohareb noted that customers across South Africa are never more than 25 minutes from an authorised Nissan dealership. He emphasised that dealers invest in technical staff, carry the right spares, and operate with the right equipment, providing Nissan owners with expert support within reach of their location.

The Ignition Awards marked the mid-point of the Festival of Nissan, which celebrated the brand's presence in South Africa and across Africa. The event recognised the achievements of dealerships and individuals who have contributed to Nissan's success in the region.
