The University of Continuing Education in Algeria is set to expand its specializations to align with the needs of the southern regions, particularly in terms of labor market and local community requirements. According to Yahia Jafari, the university's General Director, this move aims to enhance the institution's relevance and effectiveness in addressing regional development needs. The El Djezair center, one of the university's active centers in the Grand South, will be strengthened with new specializations.

During the closing ceremony of the 4th edition of the Digital Education Week, Jafari emphasized the importance of establishing a smart education system. He highlighted the center's role in the region and the need for its development with new specializations that respond to local resources, needs, and development requirements. This initiative seeks to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and professional, economic, and developmental needs.

The University of Continuing Education currently has over 100,000 students nationwide and offers more than 27 specializations. The institution plans to introduce new technical specializations in the upcoming year. Jafari stressed that this expansion must be accompanied by improvements in the quality of university services, knowledge, and research to ensure institutional growth that meets development requirements.

The university has experienced significant growth, with the addition of four new centers, mostly in the southern and Grand South regions. This expansion aims to enhance the university's capacity to provide relevant education and training to students. The institution's diplomas have gained equal value to those from other universities, both professionally and academically.

For the third consecutive year, the University of Continuing Education will welcome new students holding baccalaureate degrees. The university's focus on digital education and e-learning platforms reflects its commitment to modernizing its education system. A new electronic platform will be introduced to address the concerns of students and stakeholders.

The University of Continuing Education is working to strengthen its partnership with local actors, fostering collaboration between scientific knowledge and professional, economic, and developmental needs. This synergy aims to support local development, create job opportunities, and generate added value for the national economy.

The expansion of specializations and services, including five new services and three digital services, demonstrates the university's dedication to enhancing its offerings. By doing so, the institution seeks to play a more significant role in Algeria's development, particularly in the southern regions, and provide students with relevant skills and knowledge.
