In the context of this year's Hajj, President Tebboune decided to support and fix the costs at 82 million centimes per pilgrim, following a proposal from the Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments. This decision comes after an increase of approximately seven million centimes this season. The President also addressed the issue of digital connectivity between state institutions and agencies.
President Tebboune ordered the preparation of a presidential decree on a secure digital connectivity plan, which will involve relevant sectors under the supervision of the High Authority for Digitization. The plan aims to enhance digital connectivity between states, facilitating the registration of local data while ensuring maximum protection for citizens' data.
The President also reviewed the basic law for civil protection personnel and their compensation system. He instructed a comprehensive review of the points used to calculate salaries, a revision of the rank scale, and an improvement in compensation for personnel working in the field and their families. Additionally, he emphasized the need for continuous training for civil protection personnel throughout their careers.
President Tebboune discussed the 2025-2026 harvest and crop campaign, instructing the sector minister to prepare a monthly newsletter and assign governors to closely monitor production rates and quantities of various grains. He also emphasized the need for immediate digitization of the agricultural product payment system and close collaboration with the National Institute of Statistics.
The President highlighted the importance of revising the role of the Algerian Grains Office and specialized institutions in the agricultural sector to improve their performance and modernize them. He also stressed the need to combat all forms of deviation in the agricultural sector and develop a more effective agricultural guidance law.
