Algerian party leaders and candidates for the municipal and provincial people's assembly elections officially began their campaigns on Thursday, November 3. The elections are scheduled for November 28. Party leaderships are focusing on attracting voters and convincing them of their programs and candidates. Some electoral lists are pending due to replacement procedures and the ongoing reception of appeal results.

The National Democratic Rally's Secretary General, Mondher Bouden, started his campaign in the southern provinces, scheduling meetings and rallies in Timimoun, In Salah, In Guezzam, Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, and Adrar. The RND is contesting the local elections with about 1,000 candidate lists for municipal and provincial assemblies. This move aims to directly communicate with citizens and introduce their candidates.

The President of the Movement of Society for Peace, Abdelaali Hassani, chose El Oued province to host his first popular rally. The MSP will participate in the elections with about 400 lists distributed across municipal and provincial people's assemblies. Meanwhile, the National Construction Movement's President, Abdelkader Bengrina, will activate their first electoral rally in Bouira province, with 600 electoral lists participating.

Candidates will now focus on neighborhood outings and rallies across various municipalities and provinces to present their programs and woo voters. Members of both chambers of Parliament are expected to engage in the election campaign by accompanying their political formations and contributing to the mobilization in favor of their candidates.

The National Independent Authority for Elections issued a statement defining the legal and ethical regulations for managing election campaigns. The rules oblige all candidates to stay away from hate speech, discrimination, and violence, while prohibiting the use of foreign languages in promotional publications or the misuse of state symbols.

The regulations also impose respect for the dignity of competitors and a commitment to providing a clean political discourse that enhances integrity and ensures equal opportunities among all independent and party lists. Legislative provisions prohibit the exploitation of public institutions and official properties for propaganda purposes.

The election campaign will continue until November 27, with candidates required to place posters exclusively in designated spaces. The National Independent Authority for Elections will monitor the campaign to ensure compliance with the regulations.
