On Monday, September 28, 2026, Algerian Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, Said Saidou, oversaw the installation of Abdel Wahab Birtima as the new governor of Tiaret province. Saidou mentioned that Tiaret has benefited from a significant institutional gain with the completion of the National Institute for Training of Local Authorities' employees, which will soon be officially opened as a regional training center. This institution aims to develop the skills of local authorities' employees, enhancing administrative modernization and public service.
The minister stressed the importance of concerted efforts to continue the development process and improve citizens' living conditions. He called for effective field management, focusing on careful project monitoring, combating bureaucracy, and coordinating with citizens, elected officials, and civil society.
Saidou urged the new governor to redouble efforts, work diligently, and take full responsibility to continue Tiaret's development and capitalize on its potential, meeting residents' expectations and reinforcing its position as a province with significant economic and developmental prospects.
The minister also acknowledged the efforts of various security and military agencies in maintaining national security, stability, and protecting citizens and properties.
