The Algerian National Security has dismantled a highly dangerous international crime network involving 61 Moroccan nationals, including a former military officer. According to a statement by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the group had infiltrated the country clandestinely with the help of accomplices, planning to carry out large-scale sabotage acts to undermine public order. The operation was conducted under the supervision of the judiciary by the Oran Wilaya Security elements, specifically within the Judicial Police.

The cell, described as a transnational criminal structure of extreme gravity, had carefully prepared to commit targeted subversive actions aimed at the country's stability and security. Preliminary investigations by security services revealed the group's modus operandi. They had traveled to the Tunis international airport, then proceeded to the eastern border areas of Algeria. Using the rugged terrain of the mountainous regions and isolated forest trails in El Kala, El Tarf Wilaya, they infiltrated the national territory.

Once inside Algeria, the group began a land journey westward, converging on Oran, a strategic location chosen to execute their plans. The police operation, conducted in close coordination with the competent prosecutor's office, resulted in the seizure of crucial evidence, including Moroccan passports and significant amounts of money in Moroccan dirhams and euros.

The 61 suspects were brought before the prosecutor of the Republic near the Specialized Penal Pole in Oran, where they will face justice for their actions, charged with association of malefactors and threat to the state's safety. The suspects had planned their actions meticulously, exploiting the country's geography to evade detection.

The successful operation demonstrates the Algerian authorities' commitment to maintaining national security and preventing potential threats. The dismantling of this international crime network is a significant achievement for the country's law enforcement agencies, highlighting their capability to address complex security challenges.

The involvement of a former Moroccan military officer in the group underscores the potential sophistication and organization of such networks. Authorities continue to investigate the group's connections and financing, aiming to uncover the full extent of their plans and prevent future threats.

The case will proceed through the Algerian judicial system, with the suspects facing serious charges related to their alleged crimes. The outcome of the trial will be closely watched, both domestically and internationally, as it may have implications for regional security cooperation and efforts to combat transnational crime.
