Algeria's University 3 is set to boost its economic presence through an ambitious plan to reach 1 billion Algerian dinars ($1 billion) in business deals by the end of 2027. As part of this strategy, the university aims to create 100 permanent jobs. This initiative seeks to transform scientific research and university knowledge into added economic value.

University 3 has announced the near completion of the first phase of liberating the social capital of all its economic branches. This will enable the mobilization of over 400 million Algerian dinars ($400 million) in self-financing from its economic activities. This move will pave the way for the second phase, which targets raising the social capital of these branches to 1 billion Algerian dinars ($1 billion).

The strategy relies on three main branches: the University 3 Financial Investment Company (SIF-UA3), the Office of Consulting, Research, and Development (SOCRED-UA3), and the University Sports Academy. These branches aim to build an integrated investment system that links scientific research to the business world.

On February 25, 2026, the SIF-UA3 obtained accreditation from the Commission for Organizing and Monitoring Stock Exchange Operations (COSOB). The accreditation was granted with an initial social capital of 188.8 million Algerian dinars ($188.8 million). The company will manage mutual investment funds specializing in financing projects and emerging institutions in strategic sectors.

The SOCRED-UA3, with a capital of 20 million Algerian dinars ($20 million), seeks to provide specialized consulting and technological services. These services include operational auditing, training, project engineering, economic intelligence, and institutional restructuring. The office aims to increase its business to 100 million Algerian dinars ($100 million) and expand its team to 50 employees by the end of 2027.

The University Sports Academy recorded positive financial results, with its business growing from 42.75 million Algerian dinars ($42.75 million) to 98 million Algerian dinars ($98 million) in one year. This represents a growth rate of approximately 130%. The academy achieved a net profit of 3 million Algerian dinars ($3 million) in its first year and contributed 27 million Algerian dinars ($27 million) to the university's budget.

University 3's combined business for its economic branches currently stands at 250 million Algerian dinars ($250 million). The university targets 400 million Algerian dinars ($400 million) in 2026 and 1 billion Algerian dinars ($1 billion) by the end of 2027. The institution expects to create 30 permanent jobs in 2026, rising to 100 by the end of 2027.
