The Algerian Civil Protection agency has announced a national recruitment contest for 3,660 male agents in 2026. This large-scale operation aims to strengthen operational forces across the country. To be eligible, candidates must meet specific conditions related to education, nationality, and physical abilities. The required education level is third-year secondary school completion. Candidates must be Algerian nationals, enjoy their civil rights, and be in a regular situation regarding national service or be exempt for non-medical reasons.

The age range for applicants is between 19 and 27 years old at the time of the contest. Physical and medical requirements are stringent, with a required overall visual acuity of 15/20 without correction, and a minimum vision of 7/10 in one eye. A minimum height of 1.70 meters is required, and candidates must have no tattoos on their bodies. The validation of the candidacy depends on passing medical and psychotechnical exams organized by the administration and justifying residence in the wilaya where the application is submitted.

The selection process consists of three series of tests, including written evaluations in mathematics and general culture, physical and sports tests, and an in-depth medical and psychological assessment. The territorial distribution of the 3,660 allocated posts reflects an effort to address specific needs in each region. The wilaya of Algiers has the largest allocation with 400 posts. Other wilayas, such as Béjaïa, Mila, and Oran, each receive 80 posts, while Sétif, Saïda, Annaba, and Boumerdès are allocated 70 posts each.

A significant number of wilayas receive a quota of 60 posts, including Blida, Bouira, Jijel, Médéa, Skikda, Sidi Bel Abbès, Ouargla, Djelfa, Tipaza, Ghardaïa, Souk Ahras, and Aïn Defla. Several large administrative districts, such as Aflou, Barika, El Kantara, Bir El Ater, Ksar El Boukhari, Ksar Chellala, Aïn Oussera, Messâad, Bou Saâda, and El Abiodh Sidi Cheikh, also receive 60 posts. Many other wilayas are allocated between 40 and 50 posts.

The wilayas of Batna, Chlef, Oum El Bouaghi, Tiaret, Bordj Bou Arréridj, Biskra, Béchar, M’Sila, Mascara, Tlemcen, Guelma, Tébessa, Adrar, Laghouat, Tamanghasset, Tizi Ouzou, El Tarf, Illizi, El Bayadh, Mostaganem, Tindouf, Tissemsilt, El Oued, Khenchela, Naâma, Aïn Témouchent, and Relizane are among those allocated between 40 and 50 posts.

The newly created districts in the Grand South, such as Timimoun, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Ouled Djellal, Béni Abbès, In Salah, In Guezzam, Touggourt, Djanet, El M’Ghair, and El Meniaa, receive an allocation of around 20 posts each. The recruitment contest aims to enhance the operational capacities of the Civil Protection agency across the country.

Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria and pass the selection process will be recruited as agents with the Civil Protection agency. The agency's efforts to strengthen its operational forces are expected to improve emergency response and disaster management in Algeria.
