Algeria's Baladna El Djazair has launched a national recruitment campaign to attract talent for its integrated agricultural and industrial complex in Adrar. The campaign, which aims to fill 1000 job positions by 2027, reached the city of Naama on October 7. The company organized a new recruitment event at the University of Naama Ahmed Salhi, providing an opportunity for job seekers and holders of certificates and qualifications to apply for positions.
The recruitment process involves collecting CVs, but does not include conducting interviews, until the completion of the company's tours across Algeria. According to the company's website, the recruitment plan includes 1000 positions to be filled by 2027, with employees taking on their duties gradually as the project expands in Adrar and Algiers. The campaign targets various fields related to the production chain, including feed production, desert agriculture, cattle breeding, and animal production.
The recruitment campaign also targets engineers and technicians in fields such as agriculture, equipment, electromechanics, hydrology, and automation, as well as specialties related to cattle breeding and milk production. Interested applicants can submit their CVs in advance through Baladna El Djazair's official recruitment platform, which allows users to enter personal information and upload their CVs in PDF or Word format.
Baladna El Djazair is developing an integrated agricultural and industrial complex in Adrar, which will bring together various stages of the production chain, from feed production and agriculture to cattle breeding and milk processing. The company's cattle barns, which cover an area of 9 kilometers, were designed to accommodate 33,250 dairy cows imported from nine US states to Algeria via 109 flights over a period of approximately 10 months.
The first shipments of cattle are expected to arrive in November 2026, as part of a system that combines technology, animal care, and sustainability. The company has also allocated advanced cooling equipment to cope with the desert heat. According to official statements, the comprehensive project spans an area of 219,000 hectares within a large investment plan aimed at transforming the desert into a comprehensive agricultural and dairy project.
The project aims to breed 270,000 dairy cows and produce around 1.7 billion liters of milk per year when it reaches full capacity. The company expects to start producing milk powder by the end of 2027. The recruitment campaign provides opportunities for Algerians to join the company's workforce and contribute to the development of the country's agricultural and dairy sectors.
The company's efforts to develop a comprehensive agricultural and industrial complex in Adrar are part of Algeria's broader strategy to boost its agricultural sector and reduce its reliance on imports. The project is expected to have a significant impact on the country's economy and food security.
