The Algerian Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments announced on Thursday the launch of registration for the 22nd edition of the Algeria Quran Memorization Competition, set to take place from November 1 to 15, 2026. The competition, which will be held exclusively online through a dedicated platform, aims to encourage Quran memorization, promote recitation and intonation skills, and discover national Quranic talents, particularly among young people.

The competition consists of three branches: the international Quran memorization and intonation competition, the national Quran memorization and intonation competition with interpretation, and the encouraging competition for young Quran memorizers. The ministry has set specific conditions for participation, including memorizing the Quran with the Warsh recitation from Imam Nafi and mastering intonation rules, while adhering to the age requirements for each branch.

For the international competition, participants must be between 15 and 25 years old, while for the national competition, participants must be at least 25 years old. The encouraging branch is reserved for young memorizers under 15 years old. Additionally, participants must not have previously won one of the top three ranks in the specified competitions and must not be well-known Quran reciters nationally or internationally.

The ministry invites interested participants to create a new account on the national digital services portal or log in using their previous accounts, then choose the suitable competition branch and fill out the registration form within the specified deadlines. This competition is part of the ministry's efforts to promote Quran memorization, master recitation and intonation, and discover Quranic talents.

The Algeria Quran Memorization Competition is one of the prominent Quranic events that aims to encourage the memorization of the Quran and promote Quranic culture among Algerians. The competition's organization reflects the ministry's commitment to supporting Quranic activities and promoting the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

The ministry's initiative to launch a dedicated platform for Quranic competitions demonstrates its efforts to facilitate participation and access to Quranic activities for a wider audience. By providing an online registration system, the ministry aims to reach a broader range of participants and encourage more Algerians to engage with the Quran.

The competition's three branches cater to different age groups and skill levels, providing opportunities for participants to showcase their Quranic knowledge and skills. The ministry's emphasis on promoting Quranic culture and encouraging memorization reflects its role in preserving and promoting Algeria's Islamic heritage.
