The 10th edition of the International Exhibition on Waste Recovery and Valorization, REVADE 2026, is set to open in Algiers on Thursday at the Pins maritimes exhibition hall. This year's event has garnered significant interest, with at least 150 Algerian enterprises and several foreign companies from countries such as Germany, Italy, China, Belgium, Rwanda, and Oman participating.

The exhibition is being organized by the Ministries of Environment and Quality of Life, and Domestic Trade and Market Regulation. The event's theme, "A sustainable circular economy: challenges and perspectives," reflects the focus on sustainable practices and environmental conservation. The presence of international organizations, including the International Labor Organization (ILO), is expected to facilitate the exchange of expertise and technologies in waste management and valorization.

REVADE 2026 will bring together a diverse range of stakeholders, including public and private sector entities, economic operators, investors, project initiators, start-ups, and foreign companies. The exhibition will provide a platform for dialogue and cooperation on issues related to circular economy and waste management. Participants will include waste collection and transportation companies, selective sorting enterprises, technical landfill centers, incineration centers, and waste transformation and recycling companies.

The event will also feature companies specializing in waste management equipment, technology providers, consulting firms, training institutions, financial establishments, insurance companies, and public sector entities. Over three days, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with various stakeholders and explore new opportunities in waste valorization and management.

One of the primary objectives of REVADE 2026 is to strengthen the role of the circular economy in Algeria's economic diversification efforts. By promoting the development of waste collection, sorting, treatment, recycling, and valorization activities, the exhibition aims to transform waste into reusable materials that can be reintegrated into industrial processes.

The exhibition also seeks to encourage national and foreign investment in waste management and valorization, support technology transfer and know-how development, and foster a specialized national industrial fabric in recycling and valorization. This, in turn, is expected to create a positive impact on employment and contribute to sustainable economic growth.

According to the organizers, REVADE 2026 represents a significant opportunity for Algeria to transition towards an integrated system of waste valorization and industrial reintegration, aligning with the country's sustainable development and economic diversification goals.
