The Alexandria province has closed and sealed three branches of a restaurant in several areas of the province, following the discovery of multiple health and food safety violations. This decision was made in line with directives from Ayman Attia, the Governor of Alexandria, to intensify regulatory campaigns on food establishments and immediately address any violations that could impact citizens' health. The campaigns were conducted in coordination with various agencies, including the Health Affairs Directorate, the Supply and Internal Trade Directorate, the National Authority for Food Safety, and the relevant districts.

The regulatory campaigns uncovered several violations, including poor hygiene levels, the presence of insects in food preparation and handling areas, and non-compliance with food preservation and handling regulations, as well as a lack of personal protective equipment for workers. Some tools and equipment were also found to be in a state of disrepair. Samples were taken and sent to specialized laboratories for testing and analysis, and legal actions were taken against the violations.

These campaigns coincided with reports of suspected food poisoning cases. A committee was formed from the Alexandria Health Affairs Directorate, led by Dr. Osama Belbal, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, and including teams from preventive medicine and food control. The committee monitored the situation, conducted investigations and examinations, took samples, and implemented necessary health and preventive measures.

The health condition of suspected food poisoning cases has shown improvement, with some patients being discharged from hospitals after receiving necessary medical care. The remaining patients are in stable condition and under medical observation until full recovery. The province emphasized that the health and safety of citizens are top priorities and that there will be no leniency towards violations that could affect public health.

The Supply and Internal Trade Directorate in Alexandria, led by Engineer Jamal Ammar, continues to conduct inspection and regulatory campaigns on restaurants and food establishments in cooperation with relevant authorities. These campaigns aim to ensure compliance with health regulations and the safety of traded products. Governor Ayman Attia stressed the importance of these campaigns and the need for continued vigilance.

The Alexandria province continues to investigate and analyze the causes of suspected food poisoning cases. Investigations and laboratory tests are ongoing to accurately determine the causes and sources of these cases. Any necessary actions will be taken based on the final results, and the public will be informed of any developments.

The regulatory campaigns and investigations reflect the province's commitment to ensuring the health and safety of its citizens. The authorities are working diligently to prevent any future violations and to maintain high standards of food safety across the province.
