Senate President Godswill Akpabio has called on youths in northern Nigeria to continue mobilizing grassroots support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. He made this appeal on October 28, 2026, when a northern youth group, Arewa Revival Project, visited him at his office. The group, comprising members from the 19 northern states, was led by Hon. Mustafa Ibrahim.

During the visit, Akpabio received an award from the group in recognition of his contributions to nation-building. He expressed gratitude for the award and encouraged the youths to sustain their mobilization efforts, emphasizing the importance of continuity based on President Tinubu's achievements. Akpabio highlighted the President's efforts in taking Nigeria out of a mono economy and introducing innovations through tax reform and law reforms.

Akpabio praised President Tinubu's achievements, stating that no President since Nigeria's independence has achieved such development. He expressed pride in the National Assembly's endorsement of the President's re-election bid, citing a pass mark for his performance. Akpabio attributed Nigeria's survival to President Tinubu's leadership and his willingness to face challenges.

The Senate President urged the youths to rise above social media propaganda, emphasizing that they have a crucial role to play in shaping their future and ensuring Nigeria's survival. He noted that the future belongs to the youths and that their efforts to stabilize the country will have a lasting impact. Akpabio also acknowledged that some individuals attacking the President on social media are being paid.

Akpabio addressed the issue of security in the country, revealing that efforts are underway to revamp the state of security. He expressed hope that the creation of State Police would soon become a reality, with about 30 states endorsing the amendment to the Nigerian constitution. This, he believes, will enhance the nation's security.

The Project Coordinator, Hon. Mustafa Ibrahim, commended Akpabio for his contributions to national development and the National Assembly's achievements under his leadership. He stated that Akpabio deserved the award for his dedication to nation-building. The Arewa Revival Project's visit aimed to appreciate Akpabio's efforts and foster collaboration between the group and the Senate President.

Akpabio concluded by urging the youths to remain confident in their campaign efforts, assuring them that the insecurity facing the country will soon be overcome. He emphasized that the current administration is working well and that uncertainty should not be introduced through negative campaigns. The Senate President's interaction with the Arewa Revival Project highlights his efforts to engage with various stakeholders and promote support for President Tinubu's re-election bid.
