The African Asset Management Company (Aga) unveiled three new mutual funds on September 30, 2026, in Cotonou, Benin. This brings the total number of funds offered by the company to five, with solutions tailored to investments ranging from three months to five years. The launch event was attended by business leaders, investors, representatives of financial institutions, and partners. Blaise Wletche, Capital Markets Director at Sgi Agi, opened the ceremony on behalf of the General Director, Théodore Ganfle.
The new funds have been designed to meet different investment objectives. Aga Trésoactiv is aimed at companies and institutions looking to manage their cash surpluses. This money market fund has a recommended investment horizon of three months and an annual management objective of 5.50%. Its initial net asset value is set at 5 billion CFA francs. Aga Obligations, on the other hand, is geared towards investors seeking regular income. This fund invests in bonds and debt securities from the West African Economic and Monetary Union (Umoa) and has a recommended investment horizon of three years, with an annual management objective of 6.00%.
The third product, Aga Elite, is focused on equity markets. Investing in companies listed on the Bourse Régionale des Valeurs Mobilières (Brvm), it targets long-term investments with a recommended horizon of five years. The fund's annual management objective is 15%, with an initial net asset value of 7,500 CFA francs. These new funds join Aga Confort Plus and Aga Capital Plus, which were launched in 2019. As of June 30, 2026, Aga Confort Plus, a bond fund, had achieved a cumulative performance of 54.5%, while Aga Capital Plus, a diversified fund, had recorded a 66.5% increase.
Aga has made significant strides in the Beninese market since its establishment in 2022. The company has grown its assets under management to 35 billion CFA francs, up from less than 6 billion at the end of 2022. This growth is a testament to the company's ability to adapt to the evolving needs of investors and provide innovative financial solutions. The conservation of assets is ensured by Sgi Agi, which also plays a role in fund distribution.
The new funds launched by Aga are expected to contribute to the development of the Beninese financial market. By providing investors with a range of investment options, Aga aims to promote financial inclusion and deepen the market. The company's commitment to transparency and good governance has earned it a reputation as a trusted asset manager in the region. Aga's expansion is also seen as a positive development for the Umoa, as it increases the range of investment opportunities available to investors across the region.
Miguel Tossavi, Director of the National Antenna of the Bourse du Bénin (Brvm), was also present at the launch event. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between market players to promote the development of the financial market. With its new range of funds, Aga is poised to play a significant role in shaping the future of the Beninese financial market.
