The Catholic Church views marriage as one of its seven sacraments, known as the Sacrament of Matrimony, where a man and woman enter a lifelong covenant of love and faith. For Koketso Magodielo, his journey towards this sacrament began many years before he stood beside Keatlegile Huma as her husband. Growing up at Christ the New Man Catholic Church in Garankuwa, north of Pretoria, Koketso was an active youth member and altar server.

Koketso's journey to marriage was influenced by Fr Michele D'Annucci, who conducted Marriage Preparation Courses at the parish centre. The priest's presence became familiar to the young altar servers, and Koketso became aware of Fr Michele's ministry and his work preparing couples for marriage. Although Koketso initially aspired to pursue the priesthood, he gradually discovered a vocation within a vocation, a calling to marriage and family life.

Koketso's path to marriage involved a marriage preparation workshop facilitated by Mr and Mrs Sofala of Garankuwa, who had been trained by Fr Michele. This experience was meaningful for Koketso, as it showed that Fr Michele's ministry continued to bear fruit years after his death. The workshop played a significant role in Koketso's journey towards marriage, demonstrating the ongoing impact of Fr Michele's work.

The spiritual preparations for Koketso and Keatlegile's wedding began with a Holy Mass celebrated by their parish priest, Fr Donald Magoma, at the Magodielo family home. The Mass allowed the family to pray together and entrust the forthcoming marriage to God. On Saturday, 26 September, Koketso and Keatlegile were married at Keatlegile's home church in Atteridgeville, surrounded by family and friends.

The decision to hold the wedding at the bride's church required balancing Koketso's Catholic faith with African cultural tradition. With the consultation and guidance of his parish priest, the necessary Catholic protocols and procedures were followed. The choice of the bride's church reflected the tradition of her home church and community forming part of her farewell as she begins married life.

Keatlegile, although from a Lutheran background, was familiar with the Catholic faith, having attended a Catholic primary school founded by the Sisters of Mercy and the Stigmatine Fathers near Garankuwa. She had also accompanied Koketso to Holy Mass on numerous occasions and attended several priestly ordinations. On Sunday, 27 September, the couple's wedding journey continued at the Magodielo family home, where Keatlegile was welcomed into her husband's family and home according to African tradition.

For Koketso, the marriage marks another chapter in his long relationship with the Church, having served Christ the New Man in various capacities, including Deputy Chairperson, Parish Chairperson, and Liturgy Coordinator. Although he has recently taken a quieter role in parish affairs, he remains involved in parish life. The wedding marks the beginning of a new vocation for Koketso and Keatlegile, bringing together the faith that has shaped Koketso's life, their family traditions, and the joy of beginning their life together.
