The 6th edition of the National Young Leader Day (JNJL) in Niger has officially begun with the installation of its organizing committee. The committee was installed by Abdoul Rachid Abdoul Baki, Secretary General of the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Culture, on September 23, 2026, in Niamey. The JNJL is organized by Cabinet Leader d'Afrique in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The event aims to transform job seekers into job creators.
The organizing committee is composed of various structures and institutions, including representatives from relevant ministries, the Fund for Solidarity for the Salvation of the Homeland (FSSP), the Fund for Support to Vocational Training and Apprenticeship (FAFPA), and the Fund for Support to Small and Medium Industries (FONAP). The committee is chaired by Abdoul Rachid Abdoul Baki, with a technical advisor responsible for youth as vice-president and the director general of youth as general supervisor.
Seven technical commissions have been set up to lead the different activities related to the 6th edition of the JNJL. These commissions focus on areas such as registration, protocol, communication and sponsoring, scientific research, finance, logistics, and security. Each commission is led by a president, assisted by a vice-president and a team of pilots. The commissions will also have access to resource persons and volunteers from Niger's entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The JNJL aims to encourage young people to valorize their skills and seize opportunities offered by the national economic environment. According to Amadou Issa Garba, founder of JNJL, about 8,000 young people graduate from higher education institutions in Niger every year, but integration into the public sector and private sector remains limited. The JNJL platform will enable the selection, registration, and training of young people.
The organizing committee has a one-month deadline after the event to present its report. A supervision commission is responsible for monitoring and coordinating the technical commissions to ensure the smooth preparation of the event. The committee's installation marks the beginning of activities for the 6th edition of the JNJL.
The event is under the patronage of the Minister of Youth, Sports, and Culture, Sidi Mohamed Almahmoud. The JNJL has been a platform for young people to develop their skills and entrepreneurial spirit. The 6th edition is expected to provide opportunities for young people to network and access resources.
The installation of the organizing committee is a significant step towards the success of the 6th edition of the JNJL. The event is expected to attract a large number of young people and stakeholders. The JNJL has become an important platform for promoting youth empowerment and entrepreneurship in Niger.
