The Tinubu Again Movement, led by Dr. Auwal Abdullahi Aliyu, has launched a campaign to re-elect President Bola Tinubu in 2027, citing improved security in the North-East region under the current administration. Aliyu made this call during the movement's North-East zonal engagement meeting in Bauchi, where supporters began mobilizing voters ahead of the 2027 presidential election. He cited his safe overnight road journey from Abuja to Bauchi as evidence of improved security.

Despite Aliyu's claims of improved security, the region still faces significant security challenges, including attacks by armed groups and other criminal elements. However, Aliyu pointed to the Federal Government's approval of two Army formations in Alkaleri and Tafawa Balewa local government areas of Bauchi State as evidence of its efforts to address insecurity. He also mentioned increased military salaries and the recruitment of 28,000 additional personnel.

The movement's director-general also highlighted the completion of a diagnostic centre at the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital in Bauchi as one of the Federal Government's interventions in the state. This facility is part of 10 diagnostic centres approved under Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda to improve access to advanced medical services. Aliyu said this and other government policies informed the movement's decision to campaign for Tinubu's re-election.

The Tinubu Again Movement was convened by the Minister of State for Defence and former Zamfara State governor, Bello Matawalle. Aliyu acknowledged that the removal of the petrol subsidy had increased monthly statutory allocations to state governments but called for greater transparency in the publication of detailed breakdowns of Federation Account Allocation Committee disbursements.

Aliyu commended the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, describing it as an intervention designed to reduce financial barriers to tertiary education and widen access for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. The movement will continue to engage political stakeholders, community leaders, and supporters across the North-East to promote the administration's policies ahead of the election.

At the meeting, the Bauchi State APC chairman expressed gratitude to the movement for choosing the state to host its zonal engagement. Other attendees, including a former Bauchi State Commissioner for Information and Culture and the Minority Leader of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, pledged to mobilize support for Tinubu. The Minority Leader, Bala Abdu Rishi, said Bauchi State would contribute 2 million votes to the movement's target of 20 million votes for Tinubu.

The Bauchi State APC's efforts to support Tinubu's re-election campaign are gaining momentum, with various stakeholders expressing confidence in Matawalle's ability to mobilize support. As the 2027 presidential election approaches, the Tinubu Again Movement's campaign in Bauchi State is expected to play a significant role in shaping the electoral landscape.
