The 17th Khouribka International Documentary Film Festival has announced its official list of participating films. The festival, set to take place from December 23 to 26, has selected nine films for the official competition and five short films for the school category. A total of 87 documentary films from various countries were submitted for consideration. The selection process was based on strict criteria, including technical and artistic qualities, subject matter, and suitability for documentary film language.

The official competition will feature documentary films from different nationalities. Some of the participating films include "L'Mina" by Randa Maaroufi, a joint production between Morocco, France, Italy, and Qatar, and "Their Eyes" by Nicolas Kogu, from France. Other films include "Habiter le monde" by Ali Badr, from Belgium, and "Liberté en acte" by Hicham Ben Ammar, from Tunisia.

The competition will also feature films such as "Ephemeral You" by Nora El Demashki, from Lebanon, "Carved Lives" by Youssef Nasr, from Egypt, and "Our Love" by Valeria Glovina, from New Zealand. Additionally, "The Departure" by Mohammed Fadel Al Jamani, from Morocco, and "Of Mud and Blood" by Jean-Gabriel Lenoir, a joint production between the Congo, France, and Germany, will be competing.

The school category, which received 13 submissions, has selected five films from different Moroccan schools and institutions. These films include "FREE KOULCHI" by Hafsa Koubar, from the Higher Institute of Audiovisual Professions and Cinema in Rabat, and "Her Land" by Meryem Bennasser and Ahd Najib, from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities in Tetouan.

Other participating films in the school category include "Adult's Secrets" by Fatima Zahra Laraychi, from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities in El Mohammadia, and "Men of the Valley" by Ayoub El Mahjoub and Hussein Hanine, from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Kenitra. The film "PAKO" by Salah Agdidik, from the Higher School of Cinema and Audiovisual in Ouarzazate, will also be participating.

The 17th Khouribka International Documentary Film Festival is organized with the support of the Office Chérifien des Phosphates and the Moroccan Cinema Center, in cooperation with the Khouribka Province, the Urban Community of the city, and the transport company Lefassis.

The festival aims to promote documentary film and provide a platform for filmmakers to showcase their work. The event is expected to attract a large audience and provide a unique opportunity for film enthusiasts to discover new and innovative documentary films.
